Lead Us Not Into Temptation!

Whether we are the tempter or the temptee, at some point in our lives, we'll fall deeply into temptation.

Anchor Scripture: {Mathew 6:13}
"And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one."

Jesus in His profound wisdom gave us a template for prayer. He incorporated "Temptation" into it. *Kindly peep 1 Corinthians 10:13 to understand why He did so.

Even Jesus in all His glory was tempted. The account of all His temptation escapade on earth were not recorded in the Bible asides the account between Him and the devil at the Mountain of Temptation- Mathew 4:1-11 *I mean, Jesus lived for 33 years and was a good looking man when he took the form of ''natural'' flesh. #Thinking out loud
How do I know He was good looking? The linen cloth which Veronica dabbed his bloody face with was a proof. Subsequently, Jesus' image that appeared on the handkerchief was the model that served artistes who drew Him.

According to Ellahillz, Temptation means falling for what is not good for you even when that thing is a good thing.

As a matter of fact, the more anointed you are, the more tempted you become. Male and female alike.

Sexual related temptations amongst other types of temptation tops the Temptation Chart. Maybe because sex is part of the physiological needs of man. *I may be wrong about my statistics though.

No one escapes temptation even the Religious in all their "HolySpirtness". *Don't ask me how I know this.

At some point, we've either stumbled on porn (visual or print) or masturbated or made out with a partner or had canal knowledge with them or even all of the above. *Yes, don't lie. winks

My prayer goes out to the celibate (especially the religious). It is not an easy journey. How do I know this? Maybe because I'm celibate and can't wait to 'uncelibate' myself. *lol

Well, the celibate life is a rewarding life! Tons of revelation and good works are recorded during its pure phase.

1 Corinthians 10:12- (Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall) puts me on my feet each time. It is a logical scriptural passage with a subtle (yet powerful) admonition.

What should we do in the face of temptation especially when you're gradually obliging but haven't fallen yet? Confront it. Confess it. Speak about it with your tempter or temptee. *It works for me.#covers face

Temptation is that which entices us a great deal even though we know we'll regret it if we fall into it. "Lead us not into temptation Oh Lord!" should be our daily confession and corporate hashtag.

Can we overcome temptation? Yes we can! Because with God nothing is impossible- Luke 1:72 and Yes! We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us- Philippians 4: 13. Committing ourselves to gainful works is a tested escape route too; for an idle mind is the devil's workshop.

Have an invigorating day Fam!
