Who Wrote The Book Of John?

On the 15th day of every month, something special happens to me. Its either a miracle happens, a new revelation unravels, or something really exciting springs up.

At exactly 8:30 pm, August 15th 2016, something divinely beautiful transpired. I had prayed for my "sign" earlier in the day and still anticipated graciously.

                                          How It got Started

I had just finished studying the 14th Chapter of the book of John and was almost concluding that John was a defensive writer who didn't hint about how he doubted Jesus being the Messiah while in prison.

Few minutes later, I had a nudge to kindly sit and meditate on the book of John. Loe and Behold! the Holy Spirit revealed to me that there were actually two different Johns: John the baptist and John the apostle. *All my life, I grew up thinking there was only one John!

After trying to put one and two together based on the similar account of  the synoptic gospel writers; Mathew, Mark and Luke, I confirmed the assertion.

Immediately, I delved into google to prove my assertion, loe and behold! James F. McGrath (New testament language and literature Professor at Butler University in Indiana polis) showed me greater and mightier things through his piece which swept me off my feet. He affirmed that it took wisdom to discern between John the Baptist and John the Apostle. *I'm wise right. winks. He went on to unveil the third John! Who knew there was a third John? I will still investigate this "third John" in due cause. He named them as follows: John the elder (Apostle of Jesus), John the seer (Author of the book of Revelation) and John the baptist (The fore-runner).

He further explained that originally, the gospel and other letters of the Bible did not name their authors and that the titles were only affixed in the Modern Bible.

Some claim Lazarus may have authored the book of John since he was close to Jesus and His disciples, and ultimately, was loved dearly by Jesus.

More so, the book of John was a written using the report writing technique. *Feel free to check it out once more.

Peep John 13:23 "One of the disciples, the one Jesus loved dearly, was reclining against him, his head on his shoulder." (Clue)

The rundown of the book of John goes on and on without acknowledging John as the writer. Or did John put up a deja vu stunt by taking the position of a ghost writer?

Pheeew! Back to my initial question: Who wrote the book of John?

*Constructive criticism and credible assertions are welcomed.

Have a Fab day!
